Over 250 young people and friends turned up to Best of the Fest screening at the Phoenix Picture House in Oxford on Sunday evening (31st July). The screening was a celebration and finale of the 2nd Screen South Summerscreen festival (23 – 31st July) showcasing work on the big screen created by young people over the week. Amongst worked screened was animation from Animation Station in Banbury, Special effects from OFVM in Oxford, Minute Movies from Thame, Abingdon,Oxford and Bicester, experimental work from Modern Art Oxford and dance on film from Matrix and Harcourt Hill in West Oxford. “There was an even bigger crowd than last year” said Geron Swann festival organiser “It was incredible to see the response to the screening and just shows the massive enthusiasm for film in the region” Over the 8 days more than 1500 people from around the county were involved in workshops, screenings and tours.
