More than 2000 people from across Oxfordshire took part in this years Summerscreen Festival. ‘This was the most successful year ever’ said Geron Swann the festival organiser ‘It seems to be really catching on as more and more people are getting involved’. Special Effects workshops, AArdman Animations, BBC Mini Movies, Harry Potter tours and screenings in local parks were just some of the most popular activities. This year also saw a real spread throughout the County with young people in Banbury, Bicester, Carterton, Wantage, Sutton Courtenay and Thame as well as Oxford all involved. The festival reached its finale on Sunday 30th July to a packed Phoenix Cinema celebrating all of the work created over the week. ‘The quality of work for the Best of the Fest screening was the highest we have seen so far’ added Geron Swann ‘Now is the time to really look to building on what has been achieved over the last 3 years’.
