DIRECTING DRAMA for FILM & TV
This course covers the principles of directing drama for the screen and shows students how to apply them in practice. It is run by film-maker Simon Hook, who made several award-winning shorts before going on to direct broadcast television drama for the BBC and Channel 4. He demonstrates the principles of directing drama through analysis of film and television clips and follows them up with practical exercises with the camera.

FESTIVAL SCREENING COURSE
This course is an initial pilot run by multi-award winning local filmmaker and tutor Sharon Woodward. Sharon has been ploughing her way through film festival databases since the late 1980′s. Her productions have had over a 100 festival screenings, she has picked up both awards and publicity along the way.

DSLR CINEMATOGRAPHY
A 1 day course for those fascinated by the cinematic look of DSLR footage. If you haven’t shot film or explored the vast array of lenses and equipment associated with DSLR you will be amazed! Multi-award winning Creative Director Richard Wakefield has had many years of experience filming with DSLR cameras and has built up a reputation for filming multi-cam on solo shoots. He is eager to share his kitlist and workflows with extensive hands-on demonstrations.

SHOOTING VIDEO Beginners Production Course
This introduction to video-making covers the whole process of video production from the initial idea through to a final product. The course is designed for those wishing to make that first step into video production, and runs over seven Tuesday evening sessions, plus two weekend sessions. Students will work in two groups of four producing two short videos using professional digital video cameras and editing digitally with Adobe Premiere software.

ADOBE PREMIERE EDITING
This practical course is designed for those looking to edit their own material using Adobe Premiere Pro software (beginners or improvers). Over the weekend we will discuss all aspects of the video post-production stage using the popular desk-top editing software Adobe Premiere Pro (as used by the TV companies such as The BBC, in Feature Film production, in corporate video and by filmmakers making Short Films everywhere). Learn how to import footage and edit, explore transitions, titling, sound editing and effects. Through out the course the tutor will be able to advise students on their own projects and ideas (subject to time constraints). Basic computer experience required, runs on MAC or PC.
