Once again Film Oxford will be taking part in the Christmas Light Night event on Friday 23rd November 2012 4pm-10pm, the previous two years we have provided a big screen in Gloucester Green, showcasing films we made during the year. This year we are getting more ‘hands on’ – our youth group ‘Digital Youth Collective’ have been working with young performers and dance groups to create moving image sequences that work with the choreography. The group will VJ (like DJ but with moving images) live, whilst the dancers do their thing. The results will be projected onto a giant screen at the rear of the stage and also on 2 giant plasma screens, creating a spectacular visual feast to accompany the dance routines.
In addition we will be running the ‘Shadowlight Cinema’ – here we will be screening the latest films produced by the Shadowlight Artist a group of learning disabled artists supported by Film Oxford to create new digital work and foster a community of professional artists. As well as the fantastic films all of the artists will be there to ‘meet their public’ and discuss their work.
