Description

DaVinci Resolve Editing – online course for beginners is designed to guide you step-by-step with exercises exploring DaVinci Resolve’s video editing, colour correcting, sound editing and other functions. This interactive course led by a pro filmmaker runs on ZOOM over seven weeks with 90-minute sessions for a maximum of 8 learners (10.5 hours contact time). Used by professionals, production companies & Hollywood, the standard version of DaVinci Resolve is free to install on your computer. The course is aimed at confident beginners (Adults 18+) who have good general computer skills.

By the end of this course you will have: –

  • a broader knowledge of DaVinci Resolve.
  • a deeper understanding of Video Editing.
  • the confidence and ability to tell a story through editing using all the tools available.
  • knowledge of colour correction and colour grading.
  • knowledge of sound correction, including basic sound repairing and recording sound.
  • the ability to export your final project in various formats.

What does DaVinci Resolve do?

DaVinci Resolve is the world’s only solution combining professional 8K editing, colour correction, visual effects and audio post-production in one software tool! You can instantly move between editing, colour, effects, and audio with a single click. DaVinci Resolve Studio is also the only solution designed for multi-user collaboration, so editors, assistants, colourists, VFX artists and sound designers can all work live on the same project simultaneously! Whether you’re an individual artist or part of a large collaborative team, it’s easy to see why DaVinci Resolve is the standard for high-end postproduction and finishing on more Hollywood feature films, television shows and commercials than any other software.

IMPORTANT: We will be running this course on DaVinci 19. You must have a decent specification mac or PC for video editing and this course. Disclaimer: It is your responsibility to check DaVinci Resolve will comfortably run HD-quality video on your machine before booking. So download and install Davinci Resolve 19 to check to ensure it will run (if you have problems with 19, use version 18). Contact us if you are unsure or have questions at office@filmoxford.org. This course is aimed at people who have good computer skills and understand the specifications of their own machine. Sessions are run on Zoom and are recorded so you can “catch up” on missed sessions or watch again. Your tutor will set you homework each week, which will take at least one hour (but the more you practice, the better). You will also need to download the next class’s resources well in advance to start on time.
