Come and meet women filmmakers, see some films and have a glass of wine on us.
Key Speaker – Florence Corvez Curtis
Florence has over 15 years experience as a film-maker. She started her career working for MTV Europe, Channel Four as well as for the corporate sector. For the last seven years, she has concentrated producing and directing documentary films about international issues for BBC World, Five and Discovery Europe as well as charities. She has made films about sustainable development in Cambodia, aid efforts during the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, covered the Mozambique floods as well as stories about women and children’s rights amongst many others.
In 2002, she worked with children on Rooted, a Children’s Bafta- nominated series for Five in the UK. She was most recently Series Producer of togetherTV*, an EU funded media project which raises awareness of people’s lives in developing countries through short videos for broadcast and schools. Florence is currently an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University in ‘Professional Media Practice’ to Digital Media students.

There will also be the premiere of the film currently being made on the Reel Women course. The film will be completed that day and screened during the evening event.
