SPARK – Creative Films by 16-24 year olds

The Ignition Random Acts Network announces that the next round of short film submissions is now open.

Deadline

5pm on 14th October 2016

Screen South is the leading Ignition Random Acts Network Centre for the South East and is working in partnership with the Arts Council, Channel 4 Random Acts, the Ignition Network and Fly Film to deliver an exciting opportunity for 16 – 24 year old emerging, creative artists and filmmakers.

The Ignition Random Acts Network will be providing training, development, production support and budgets of up to £4000 for the selected films; which must be of a maximum length of 3 minutes excluding credits. All selected films will be considered by Channel 4 for online and broadcast opportunities across various broadcast, online cinema and exhibition platforms.

The brief is for ‘bold, innovative expressions of creativity’ across a range of art forms.  We are looking for young people with strong creative ideas, dedication to their craft and drive to create and deliver their film.  We want to hear new voices and see visual storytelling that is exciting and memorable, using diverse art forms such as dance, comedy, spoken word, poetry, digital arts and new technology!

SPARK – up to 8 Films

Young Artist & Filmmaker Led

This is an opportunity for young creatives to work with the Ignition Network production partners, who can provide guidance and support to deliver broadcast standard short films, or the young creatives can nominate their own production partner. We are looking to support young creatives who have a great idea with clear potential to deliver their film by March 2017. In some instances we can also support artist filmmakers who would like to embed an idea in an activity, company or need a longer development time for creative, technical or access reasons.

All of the teams selected for commission will work with our partner Executive Producers from Fly Film and experience post production at the highest level thanks to our partnership with Molinare. During their time at the post production house, all teams will complete their production experience by working alongside the in-house creatives in Grade, Online and Mixing Dub.
