Video Camera Course

Video Camera Course at Film Oxford is a one day pro-camera course with professional TV/Film cameraman and lighting director Graham Reed.
(Was called HD camera, named when HD was new. Now with 4K and other formats we have decided to keep it simple and call it Camera Course!)This course is aimed at those who have some experience of Pro/semi-pro camcorders, but want create better images. It will give the participant greater understanding of the manual and menu functions common to all such cameras. It is an ideal companion course to 1 Day lighting course. The course will look at the communality of all such cameras, (it is important not to just learn one particular camera but be able to use any camera). (Participants are welcome to bring their own as well) Saturday 19th November 2016, 10am-5pm

Film Oxford Lighting Workshop 2Lighting Course

Do you want to improve the lighting on your films using pro lights, or just know more about lighting before you start making films? Most people rent lights for their shoots, but which lights should you rent? Do you know you how to get the correct exposure? Your f-stops from your grey scale? You Kelvins from your Gammas? Your Gobos from your HMI’s? Your Fresnels from your ND? Learn the lingo of a pro-lighting person and get your hands dirty setting them up!

This Lighting Workshop will introduce participants the principles of lighting using different professional lights, giving them a better understanding and confidence to deal with diverse lighting situations. The course is led by former BBC senior cameraman Graham Reed, and during the course you will be encouraged to rig and use the lights yourselves. It is an ideal companion course to Video Camera Course Sunday 20th November 2016, 10am-5pm
