🎬 Creative Opportunities for Young People at Film Oxford
Film Oxford offers a diverse range of creative programmes for young people in Oxfordshire empowering them with skills in the visual arts, filmmaking, and animation. Our projects are designed to inspire creativity, build confidence, and open pathways into the creative industries.

🌞 Summer Screen (July & August)
Each summer, Film Oxford partners with local youth clubs to deliver exciting arts and media workshops for young people aged 9-14. Participants explore video production, animation, and storytelling, gaining hands-on experience while developing new skills. The program concludes with a free outdoor film screening, where young creators showcase their work to friends, family, and the wider community.
🎥 BFI Film Academy (October Half-Term)
The BFI Film Academy at Film Oxford offers free filmmaking training for young people aged 16–25, with a focus on inclusion and accessibility. No prior experience is needed, and support is available for travel and completing applications. The academy plays a vital role in supporting underrepresented groups in the UK film industry, helping to build a more diverse and inclusive future for film.
✨ Creative Lights (October & November)
Creative Lights is a vibrant community arts project co-led by Film Oxford, Rose Hill Junior Youth Club, and Rose Hill & Iffley Low Carbon, as part of Oxford’s Christmas Light Festival. Through workshops in lantern making, animation, and filmmaking, young people and families come together to celebrate creativity and environmental awareness. The project culminates in a magical lantern parade, lighting up the heart of the Rose Hill community.
