Film Oxford, the flagship charity for Film, Arts and Creative Media in Oxfordshire, is looking for a new Chair of Trustees.
With a reputation built up over 35 years for engaging with our communities – including the young, older people, women, refugees and those with disabilities – we are looking for a person with business experience to head up our fantastic Board of Trustees.
“Although we face challenging times, there are real opportunities for an organisation like ours – a trading wing, relocation to a new Creative hub, working more in our communities – and we are looking for someone with business experience to help steer us into a new era” Geron Swann, Film Oxford Development
Film Oxford currently has a turnover of £200,000 and employs 5 part-time staff. We have reacted quickly to the current pandemic – securing considerable Covid emergency funding from the government and Arts Council – and are now planning to establish a ‘trading wing’ to support our charitable programmes into the future.
As our new Chair of Trustees, you will bring with you an understanding of the charitable sector, a sensitivity to an organisation that has grown organically over the last 30 years, and business experience to help us build a sustainable model for our future. Your key roles will be:
- To ensure that the Board of Trustees fulfils its duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the charity
- To ensure that the charity has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction
Apply with your CV and a covering letter to Geron Swann, Film Oxford Development: geron@filmoxford.org. Deadline 31st October 2020.
Applications from women, BAME communities and other marginalised groups are particularly welcome
