OFVM film oxford– MIDAS Production Awards Guidelines
The MIDAS (Moving Image in the Digital Age) Production Awards provide production support and equipment for 5 projects that look to push digital media production to new boundaries. The projects can be drama, documentary, animation or experimental based and will need to demonstrate an original narrative that imaginatively engages with audiences in the digital world (eg. viral/phone/web/other). It could be a game, a website or a film.
The awards offer equipment and production support, (not cash support) and are open to people living in Oxfordshire.
In the application you will need to include the following:
1. An outline. A short summary of the project
2. Research carried out so far.
3. A treatment – what the project will contain (content and style).
4. A script and storyboard (where appropriate)
5. An indication of how your work will reach its audience.
6. Budget – how much it would cost to make without the award
7. Personal CV and CVs of others involved in the production (if appropriate)
8. DVD or examples of previous work.
The MIDAS awards will support films up to a maximum of 6 minutes in length; websites or games projects will be assessed on individual merits for duration. There is no minimum duration. The awards are open to all levels of experience but applicants will need to demonstrate that they or their production team have the experience and expertise to deliver the project successfully, and on schedule. Training will not be provided.
It maybe useful for entrants to visit the BBC Film Network website and look at the quality and originality of stories being told in short films currently. http://www.bbc.co.uk/filmnetwork/
