Film Oxford is keen to support the local industry, bring emerging talent to the attention of local employers and attract inward investment to the area. We organise regular free events throughout the year that bring the film/digital media industry and emerging talent together. These include the Digital Creatives and the Open Screen network evenings. We also run the Location Oxfordshire website and service set up to support the film, TV and photographic industries looking to film in the county. To receive more information about regular events please click on links below or subscribe to our email newsletters.
Digital Creatives Oxford
Monthly presentations and networking for digital creatives (professional and emerging) in the region. Get together with local animators, web designers, software developers, games designers, film makers and the new wave of cutting edge digital creators.
A friendly networking group that meets on the first Thursday of the month. The perfect opportunity for filmmakers in Oxford to get together and to view and review new work. If you have taken a Film Oxford course or working independently please come along and meet others making films.
The setting up of Location Oxfordshire has had a major impact on filming in the area. Last year alone filming applications doubled around Oxfordshire as the city and county became a more film friendly destination. The Location Oxfordshire site not only offers information and advice but also a growing data base of potential locations and local services that may be of use to visiting productions. There is also the very popular Film Trail page highlighting some of the top locations used by Harry Potter, The Golden Compass and Inspector Morse.
