Saturday 14 November 2026 | Rose Hill Community Centre | 2pm onwards

Join us for Creative Lights Festival: Fantastic Fiction, a free family event celebrating reading, creativity and community as part of Oxford’s Christmas Lights Festival 2026
From 2.00pm, enjoy creative activities including lantern-making workshops inspired by books, stories and fictional adventures and a free community meal. Then bring it to the parade.

Celebrating the joy of reading and imagination, local young people will create lanterns based on their favourite books, characters and stories, bringing fiction to life through light and creativity.
As darkness falls, join a colourful lantern parade around the Rose Hill estate, featuring hand-made lanterns, spectacular large-scale creations and a live band.
Gather outside Rose Hill Community Centre from 4.30 pm with your lanterns. The parade sets off at 5.00pm and ends at The Oval by 6pm.
A joint project by Rose Hill Junior Youth Club (RHJYC) , Film Oxford, Rose Hill Community Centre and other groups based in the area.
Free and open to all. Come and help light up Rose Hill with Fantastic Fiction!
